      I mainly focus on 4 main designers plus some other influential ones of the 20th century.

      Moorcroft

      Moorcroft pottery established by William Moorcroft. In 1897 he started work at James MacIntyre. He mastered the tube-lining technique that Moorcroft is famous for. In 1913 he built his own factory and the pottery was taken on by his son Walter, following William's death in 1945. The company is still producing pottery today.

      Lalique Glass

      Established by Rene Lalique who originally made jewellery but moved his attention to moulded glass production. He was famous for his Art Deco glass art designs, including vases, perfume bottles and hood ornaments. Lalique glass continued after his death in 1945 and is still produced today.

      Clarice Cliff

      Born in 1899 and started work at 13. Moved to A J Wilkinson's factory in 1916 and was given her own studio. She is famous for her brightly coloured range of pottery which was a big hit within the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s.

      Whitefriars

      The firm of James Powell and Sons, also known as Whitefriars Glass, were London-based English glassmakers, leadlighters and stained-glass window manufacturers. The company existed from the 17th century and finally closed its doors in 1980 after 300 years of glass manufacture.
